Heat Wave's Cast Celebrates the Beginning of Shooting in a Press Conference

The cast of Heat Wave celebrated the beginning of shooting the new TV series in a press conference held last Sunday in Al Ahram Studio. The event was attended by director Mohamed Yassin, producerDina Farouk, producer Fadi Ismael, screenplay editor Mariam Naoum and a number of the stars in the show Eyad Nassar, Medhat Saleh, Dorra, Jehan Fadel, Khaled Selim, Dina El Sherbiny, Hana Shiha,Amira Al Aidy, Ahmed Hadad, Ramzi Lehner, Sayed Ragab, Hassan Harb, Bayoumi Fouad andSameh El Sayed. Heat Wave is co- produced by WIKA for Film Production and Distribution, O3Productions and director Mohamed Yassin.

The TV series also stars Maaly Zayed, Hala Fahker, Ayda Abdel Aziz, Jordanian actress Seba Mubarakand Sami Meghawri in addition to a huge number of actors and actresses. Based on a novel by prolific writer Osama Anwar Okasha titled 'Munkhafad Al Hind Al Mawsemi', the new TV series is the second cooperation between Eyad Nassar and director Mohamed Yassin after they first collaborated inAl Gama'a TV series.

The novel by Okasha was published thirteen years ago and it is an illustration of the classes of the Egyptian society through intertwined relationships between several families. During the conference, director Mohamed Yassain confirmed "What Okasha wrote long ago explains what is taking place in Egypt nowadays".

The press conference started with a few words by director Mohamed Yassin, WIKA's CEO Dina Farouk, and O3 Production's general manager Fadi Ismail. The second part of the event witnessed the participation of Dina El Sherbiny who presented the segments of the conference and introduced the family names of each character played by the stars of the show such as Sayed Al Agati's family, andHamada Ghazlan's family. Each actor and actress gave a brief about their characters in the show withoutrevealing too much. By the end of the conference Medhat Saleh sang part of his renowned song 'Kawkab Tani' together with Khaled Selim, then the cast started recording interviews with fifteen Egyptian and Arab satellite TV channels in addition to different online video outlets.

Heat Wave is the first TV series produced by WIKA for Film Production and Distribution after producing a number of successful feature films, documentaries and TV shows. The company has recently produced Harag W' Marag, a feature film by Nadine Khan. The film's world premiere was inDubai International Film Festival in 2012, where it won the Special Jury Award.
